LJ Duey is a speculative fiction writer and narrative designer.

As the creator of We Wicked Ones and the Associate Writer on Xbox’s upcoming Perfect Dark, LJ brings a talent for engaging dialogue, immersive prose, and nuanced worldbuilding. Currently pursuing an MS in Narrative Futures at the University of Edinburgh, he’s exploring how to most effectively tell climate stories that inspire real world action.

A proud Oregon native, LJ enjoys camping, skiing, and spending time with Leon, his bashful Jindo mix. As a Los Angeles transplant, he loves to try new restaurants and go to the beach.

Inspired by the likes of Ursula K. Le Guin, Ted Chiang, and Bruno Latour, LJ aims to craft stories that use genre to ask thoughtful, speculative questions about the world.
